Gauge

A gauge is a non-binding vote. When a decision is created as a gauge, the topic does not become a binding decision after the vote — it returns to preparation. A new, binding vote with any decision mode can then follow.

Gauges allow decision modes to be combined sequentially, for example a resistance poll as a gauge before a binding consent process.

See Combining decision modes for examples.

Note

Gauge and experiment are mutually exclusive.
