Workspace settings¶
The workspace is the top-level organizational unit in Rhizome. All members of a team work within a shared workspace. Workspace administrators manage the fundamental settings.
General settings¶
- Workspace name — the organization name displayed throughout the interface
- Time zone — the time zone of the organization
- Week start — Monday by default; can be changed to Sunday for organizations that follow that convention. This setting affects calendar views, for example when selecting a deadline.
Working hours¶
Workspace administrators define on which days and during which hours the organization works. This setting has two effects:
- Notifications — email notifications are only sent within the configured working hours. This lets the organization decide when notifications arrive, supporting healthier boundaries between work and personal time.
- Deadlines — when creating a decision, the interface shows whether the selected deadline falls within working hours. If a decision is started outside working hours, the deadline begins at the start of the next working period.
Example
Working hours are set to 8:00 AM–6:00 PM. You start a decision with a 24-hour deadline at 6:05 PM. The deadline begins the next morning at 8:00 AM.
Group management¶
In the group settings, workspace administrators can:
- create new groups and project groups
- configure whether regular organization members may create groups on their own
When creating or editing a group, the following options are available:
- Icon — the symbol shown next to the group in the sidebar
- Color — one of currently eight colors for visual distinction
- Name and abbreviation — the abbreviation appears on topics and indicates which group a topic was published in
- Description — the purpose of the group
- Facilitation mode — how facilitation works within the group (see Facilitation)
- Members — add or remove people from the group
Member management¶
Workspace administrators can invite new members by email. Multiple email addresses can be entered separated by commas. Invited people receive an email and can join the workspace on their own.
Deleting a workspace
During the beta phase, workspace administrators cannot delete the workspace themselves. Please contact Rhizome support for this.
