The console

The console is the quickest way to navigate Rhizome. You open it with Cmd+K auf dem Mac und Ctrl+K on Windows and Linux, type in whatever you want – and you’ll get either a search result or an action.

The full-text search covers posts, documents and tasks all at once. So you don’t need to know in advance whether what you’re looking for is in a conversation, a document or a task – the results are returned categorised by type.

Navigation, topics and groups appear as separate sections in the results list. Instead of clicking on them in the sidebar, simply tap the name.

Creating and amending

Without leaving the console:

  • Create a topic – you’ll be asked which group it belongs to
  • Create a group or project group
  • Change settings: language, colour scheme, light or dark mode, profile

If you’re currently in a topic, a section labelled In this topic will also appear, showing the actions you can take there.

If you learn just one thing

Cmd+K replaces most of the steps involved in using the interface. Anyone who works a lot with Rhizome tends to use the console more and more.
