Reference¶

For reference, should you come across a term whilst using the system.

When making a decision¶

• procedure – how binding the outcome is: binding, a gauge of opinion or an experiment
• Gauge of opinion – shows where the group stands, without being binding
• experiment – binding, but for a limited period
• none of these – a vote against all proposals
• Feedback – a thread for comments after completion
• objection and veto – the two tools for raising objections in consent and consensus
• alternative – the alternative that triggers a vote on opposition

!!! Note: "Methods are not additional options" “Mood” and “experiment” are two of the three values that a method can take – not tick boxes next to the method. A decision always has exactly one method. Feedback, on the other hand, is not something you select at all when creating the process – it is linked to the method and can be enabled later.

Special rules¶

• quorum – minimum turnout required for a valid decision
• Votes per person – the number of options each person can vote for
• required majority – threshold that an option must reach
• Points budget – points available per person
• Points limit per option – maximum points per option and per person
• Distribution across options – the number of options on which points may be allocated
• Disqualifying resistance value – the resistance level that blocks an option
• Random order – each person sees the proposals in their own order
